Hey everyone! I’m Marcie, and I figured it was time to reintroduce myself to those who are new here and reconnect with those who have been following my photography journey!
I’m the face behind **Marcie Callahan Photography**, a family and lifestyle photographer based in Rockville, Maryland. I’m also a wife, a mom, a dog lover, and someone who genuinely loves capturing the little moments that make life so special.
How My Photography Journey Started
My photography journey really took off in 2020, during the pandemic. Like so many people, I found myself slowing down and appreciating the everyday moments around me. I started photographing my daughter, our dog Cosmo, family, friends, and the world around us.
What started as a creative outlet eventually turned into something much bigger. Five years later, I took that passion and turned it into a full-time photography business!
Looking back, it’s pretty amazing to see how something that started during such an uncertain time became something I love doing every single day.
What Makes My Photography Different?
I’m not the photographer who expects everyone to stand perfectly still, smile at the camera, and hope for the best.
I love movement, laughter, genuine emotions, and those unexpected moments that happen when people forget there's a camera around.
My photography style is colorful, candid, and full of personality. Whether I’m photographing a family with energetic little ones, a couple celebrating an anniversary, or an expecting mom preparing for a new chapter, I want every gallery to tell a story.
And please don't worry if you feel awkward in front of the camera! Most people do. My job is to make the experience comfortable, relaxed, and actually fun.

I photograph families, couples, maternity sessions, children, professional headshots, and special events throughout Rockville and the surrounding Montgomery County area.
One of my favorite things about photographing in Maryland is the variety of beautiful locations we have. From the greenery at local parks to gorgeous fall foliage and charming outdoor spaces, there is always somewhere special to create memories.
But the location is only part of it. The people and their connections are what make each session meaningful.
A Little More About Me
Outside of photography, being a wife and mom is a huge part of who I am. My family is one of the reasons I understand just how quickly life changes and why photographs matter so much.
Kids grow up. Families change. New chapters begin.
And sometimes, the everyday moments we hardly notice become the memories we wish we could revisit.
That’s exactly why I love what I do.
